Organization system guide

How to avoid over-organizing

An organization system becomes counterproductive when it takes more time to maintain than the problem it solves.

Use the fewest useful categories

Broad categories are usually enough.

Do not decant everything

Original packaging may carry useful identification and instructions.

Avoid inventories no one needs

Track only where retrieval or value justifies it.

Visual perfection is optional

An organized home does not need to resemble a store display.

Practical boundary. Measure first, respect product load limits, and do not improvise wall, ceiling or overhead installations when the structure or appropriate hardware is uncertain.
